According to Mircea Eliade religion has "not vanished without a trace; [it] has contributed toward making us what we are today and so, after all, [it] forms part of our own history". In what ways has religion contributed toward your personal history?
Religion has contributed my personal history in many ways. I am a muslim. Being a muslim is a way of life. I have to pray 5 times a day, and fast during the months of ramadan. I even wake up before dawn to pray, and during ramadan i also drink lots of water before the sun comes up, so i don't dehydrate during the day. There are also everyday things we are forbidden from doing, such as eating pork, and drinking alcohol. Unfortunately, not all muslims follow those rules, but i have managed to stay away from those things.
